peaches in cream

Last night, I made homemade peach ice cream.I’m working on a freelance article, so I’m not going to post the recipe yet, but I can tell you, it was so so good. It reminded me of being a little girl making banana ice cream in the ice cream maker in the sink, adding salt and ice, and eagerly anticipating the soft, creamy, rich ice ream to follow. It was noisy, and wet, and messy, but it was completely worth it. It is so rich and fluffy and thickly custardy. Honestly, all that premium ice cream in the store? Or for 4 bucks a small cup at those stands? None, and I do mean none are quite like homemade. Now, I know that my bias is pretty strong given the nostalgia level. And I know that it potentially makes a big difference but, let me just encourage you with this: if you have never tasted this kind of pleasure, then at least once this summer try it and begin the process of letting that nostalgia develop for further use.
