Last night was incredibly muggy and hot…raining, huge amounts of lightning, hail, and no electricity. Tonight, thankfully, there is air and light. I realized this morning how much I depend on the microwave and the stove and the oven. I couldn’t make oatmeal (not that I was going to anyway…) or tea. I kept thinking everything in the fridge and freezer would go bad, I couldn’t make anything ahead of time. I literally went outside, in the rain, and thanked the men who fixed the problem. They were working in the rain for a really long time and they became my new heroes!

Dinner was trying to recreated last night’s wrap. It didn’t work exactly, partly because it sat for longer before I actually ate it, and partly because instead of a burger I used some veggie soy crumbles. It was good, but it was different, which I think was partly the problem. I was anticipating one taste and got another.

Hope you are surviving the weather-pray for Joplin!
